Much sought after vintage longines Weems made for the english market,The watch was developed as a pilots / navigators watch, designed by Commander Philip van Horn Weems, USN,(Thats what i was told years ago, but not sure if true )and released by Longines in 1937. The watch was issued to pilots and navigators to be used for dead reckoning Aviation navigation.These models are becoming increasingly harder to find, Weems Navigation Watch, one of the first aviation watches.This watch is even rarer as its made for the English Market and has earned a lasting place in history as one of early aviation’s most reputed wrist instruments,especially with the correct bezel, Which is usually lost. stainless steel wristwatch, 1940s. The Dimensions 34mm excluding crown, ,36mm including crown, 40mm lug to lug and 16mm lug width. Overall condition very good ,The watch comes with a new non Longines strap. SOLD
